My students attend an urban, public school, serving children in grades Prekindergarten through Grade 5. The boys and girls come from many different backgrounds and many of their parents do not speak English at home. Some of my students are faced with challenges every day. However, they come to school happy and eager to learn. When I ask them what the most important thing to do in school is, they reply, "Try your very best and NEVER give up!" The students are extremely proud of their work and they believe that practice makes improvements ..I hear them talking about it with their classmates and I've had several parents happily repeat to me. It is a joy to be a part of their lives.
