My students are 9th graders. I have about 550 of them. They are full of life and becoming adults. They are learning how to take responsibility for themselves. This means taking responsibility for their school work, grades, attendance, etc. I work very closely with them on this responsibility. By the mid point of the year, many of my students know that I do not accept excuses for missing grades, tardiness, etc. A lot of my students will come to me and show me their grades and let me know they haven't been tardy all week. They are so proud of themselves when they achieve these things.
