I have a wonderful, intelligent and eager to learn group of first and second grade students with Autism. My kiddos are just as bright as your typical student, but because of the nature of their disability, they have trouble communicating, remaining engaged or focused, and displaying their knowledge. With technology, I have seen students with Autism make unimaginable gains. I am hoping the same for my students. Many of my students come from poverty or poor living conditions. Many of my students have not seen an iPad or been video recorded. With these technology, I can set up learning stations and provide my students with additional means of communication as well as additional one on one time with each student at an appropriate level. I have already seen tremendous gains in each student after working with them for a few short months, but with a projector, Ipads and additional technology, my students will be able to learn at a higher level, and I am eager to take them there!
