I have been blessed with a career that is fast paced, forever changing and growing, and leaves me feeling happily exhausted, but proud at the end of the day. I am a Special Education Teacher who works in an Inclusive Comprehensive High School. For many of the students that are on my caseload and/or are in the classes that I co-teach with a general education teacher, this is the first time they have ever been in mainstream classes with neuro-typical peers. High school is an exciting time for all students and for some, a fresh start, but it can also be very scary. By the time many students receiving special education services leave middle school, they feel isolated, different, and struggle with positive self-image.
