As a first grade teacher, my goal is to instill the value and importance of reading in my students. I also want them to grow into passionate and voracious readers. My students are always searching for a "just right" book and since this is my first year teaching first grade, I don’t have a vast library for them to choose from. I want to push my students and help them grow as readers and building a classroom library will help me do just that! My students absolutely love reading and learning new things so I would like to provide them with engaging and interesting books. Getting books that pique my students interest will allow them to practice their reading strategies and build their fluency. They will also be able to read "just right", enjoyable books that allow them to get lost in reading; I want to stretch their imagination and creativity! I am excited to have the opportunity to provide my students with a library that will develop a lifelong love for learning and reading!
