My students are amazing!! They enjoy reading, especially newly released books. New books, attract more readers! We love talking about what we are reading and sharing suggestions among our class. My school is a wonderful school. The community is wonderful, and very supportive. We have many students who are from low-economic families. A lot of our students lack the exposure to the world outside our small community. Our fourth and fifth graders enjoy preparing for elementary battle of the books competition each year, and love reading those books. Since students compete on teams, we have some students who wouldn't normally compete in fear of being wrong, or overlooked, that will compete and devour these books! Students who aren't always voracious readers, will wait (not always patiently) for someone to finish these books, so they can read it next!! I love seeing that passion for reading grow and grow!!
