Both male and female high school students choose to participate in Outdoor Pursuits because they are interested in the adventure and challenge of camping in a pristine, isolated wilderness area. We work very hard to keep the cost of participating in the 7 day canoeing/backpacking/camping experience as low as possible. The entire 7 day experience including all food, transportation, camping, and canoeing equipment costs students $250. Even at this very reasonable price, some students develop a payment plan which covers several months. Our school of approximately 700 students includes a high percentage of students who do not have the ability to travel outside of the local rural community and who are excited by the opportunity to go on a 7 day canoeing trip.
