Currently, I serve a class of culturally, linguistically, and academically diverse group of first grade scholars in a large Title I school in Sacramento. My students are eager, bright-eyed, excited, chatty, charming, and ready to please. I have been teaching underserved students and communities for fifteen years. Each year, few of my young scholars come to whatever grade level I teach with the basic skills to achieve grade level standards. Yet, with hard work and determination on both sides, students leave at the end of each school year having made impressive gains. Greatness has and will always be achieved when the heart is in the teaching and learning. Thank you for helping to support my students' success and future. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of children who need us the most.
