My class is full of hard-working students who desperately need an easel to create an intimate learning environment. Our classroom is extremely overcrowded with tables stretching out to the very far end of our classroom. An easel will allow me to create anchor charts in the intimate setting of our carpet ensuring that all students have equal access to their education. An easel would also allow mobility of the anchor charts to a more centralized location in the room after the instruction has been provided in the carpet. My students come from a high-poverty community, often times from broken or unstable homes with limited stimulation or developmentally age-appropriate opportunities. Our school is Title I, with 100% of our students receiving free breakfast and lunch. My classroom size is the largest in the school, and all 32 of my students are acquiring English as a second language (English Language Learners).
