My students are amazing! They have such a strong desire to learn and always want to try to do more and more. They love to investigate and create and are very encouraging of one another. Being in Alaska, we embrace our winter city. Students go outside for recess in all types of weather and temperatures that can be as low as -10 degrees. We have a good mix of military and non military middle class families. Our school has huge support from our families and community. We are one of the largest elementary schools in our district and seem to be bursting at the seams. We are having to work with fewer and fewer dollars for supplies and furniture, just like most other districts.
