The profile of the SC graduate adopted by the state of South Carolina states that our students need to possess world class knowledge of creativity, innovation, critical thinking, problem solving, collaboration, teamwork, communication, media and technology. In order to make sure students receive these skills and live up to the profile of a SC graduate, we have to create meaningful, creative learning experiences for students. By incorporating Osmos systems in our school library, what better way to create fun, engaging learning experiences to enhance these skills. Every student makes scheduled weekly visits to the library for 40 minutes. This will give each student in the school the opportunity to utilize the Osmos systems to build upon the skills necessary to become a SC graduate. Osmo is an innovative gaming system that fosters creative thinking and collaborative learning. Osmo fosters learning in key areas such as: creative problem solving, art, STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics). When paired with iPads, Osmo's can transform the area in front of the iPad into an interactive environment. Each kit includes manipulatives that can be used in the interactive area. They can solve puzzles, count, spell words, draw...the possibilities are endless with Osmos! But most of all, it creates a meaningful, collaborative, engaging, and fun learning experience for students!
