Students pour into the sound of welcoming good morning music; bopping their heads as they unpack anxiously, to learn and interact. They grab their books, snuggle up with a pillow and lose themselves in adventure. That's only the beginning! We conclude our days with a "SNAP" classic,"I've Got the Power!" Our students have the POWER to reach for the stars. Our classroom (1-1) is filled with many friends of diverse backgrounds. Each and everyone of them are jewels, treasures dug up from the Earth. Excited, energetic, light hearted and bright are words that best describe these gems. Our students demonstrate to us daily that the cares of this world can be overcome with a smile and hard work. Our school is located in an urban environment of which poses a challenge for many of our families. A great deal of the students in 1-1 are Learning English as a second language. Others lack academic support at home and rely heavily on school resources provided to aid in their academic success.
