My children are amazing! I work in a Philadelphia neighborhood that is being "gentrified." There housing projects around the corner from million dollar homes. The student body is diverse, but respect and love are present. The majority of my students are from households that are considered low-income and most have hardworking parents who want to see their children succeed. Some of my students are children of illiterate mothers and some may be the first to graduate from high school. Some students have school provided breakfast and lunch as their only meal of the day. Many students have no one at home to help them with homework or encouraging their learning because there are so many other things going on or needing attention. My children have excellent attendance and come to school with a strong desire to learn even though they don't always know how to show it. Your donation will not go to waste. It's in good hands!
