Working in an inner city school presents challenges. My students are wonderful and hardworking individuals. They strive to achieve to the best of their abilities. Some have no family life or their parents are uneducated, so they are unable to assist them at home. Their teachers' take on the role of parent, educator and friend. Its a large challenge to teach with a large lack of materials. I constantly struggle to find the right tools and materials to teach my students. Also, many come to the middle school with a lack of reading ability.
