I have a very diverse group of scholars, from all walks of life. Each of them has a story to tell, some are great, and others could bring one to tears. My scholars love to compete, therefore, a lot of competition happens in our classroom. We usually compete during our "brain breaks" and/or independent activities, and the scholars love for the competitions to be girls vs. boys. Our school is not much different than our classroom. The teachers and administrators spend long hours with the scholars making sure they are prepared for the next level in their education. We work as a professional learning community, knocking ideas off of each other and trying to do what is best for our school and community. I know that our scholars know we love them and want, with every part of us, for them to be successful in life. Most of my students receive 504 accommodations for ADHD and I have to find different strategies each day to help them remain on target and feel confident.
