I teach in a 2nd grade classroom at a Title 1 school. I have 26 students from a variety of backgrounds. I have four students that speak other languages, students that are on specified IEP's for learning disabilities, and students with other challenges or outside distractions that can make learning a struggle. I thought to myself one day, "In this technological world why is it that teachers do not use technology more to help students be successful and engaged in learning in the classroom." Thinking about it more I realized it is expensive! I was able to get my hands on an IPAD from our district but had "limited" use with it. However, with that limited use I saw huge growth in my students that were able to have access to the IPAD on a daily basis for academics. I saw their confidence, happiness, engagement, and academics increase. I became a believer and ever since have been looking for resources to get technology such as this into the hands of my students.
