The first graders I have the privelage of spending my days with are an enthuastic, energenized, funny, silly, and hard working group. My class is composed of 19 students who receive free or reduced breakfast and lunch. Colvin Elementary is a Title 1 school who caters to a predominantly Hispanic population. My students have daily struggles with basic necessities sometimes not being met, this can make for a day at school seem nearly impossible. Yet, despite their hardship they give me their full trust and love the minute they walk through the door. I am the lucky one who gets to see their smiling face each morning.
