My classroom is currently bright and colorful to invite students into the space and make it a safe place where they want to be. However, my classroom library is nothing but bare hardwood floor and the rug that was passed down to me for our whole group lessons is not only old and stained but a dull gray. These new rugs would match the bright set-up of my classroom and provide students with comfy spaces to read and collaborate with one another. My students' favorite center during Guided Reading is Partner Reading, but partners currently have to sit at a table or desk, instead of being able to really get cozy with a good book together in the library.
