What I want you to know most about my students is that they are animated and bright and excited in our book clubs. They constantly surprise me with their insight. I learn more from them every time we meet. Their desire to read grows with every book we add to our collection. The students in our book club represents all grade levels in our school. They are from various socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds. Our school is a large high school in the largest district in the state of Kentucky. The average income for families in our school community is $26, 473. In fact, 74% of our students are on free/reduced lunch. Our school has made huge changes in the last several years to improve academic achievement for our students. I am very proud to work here and proud of the students who come every day and work hard to improve their lives and the lives of their families.
