My students are brilliant. They are ambitious: 98% of them will be the first of their family to attend college. All of my students are students of color. 95% of them receive free or reduced lunch. The vast majority of them grew up speaking a language other than English at home. They possess an awareness and maturity that is rare for individuals of their age. They will move on to do great things. My students are curious, inquisitive, driven, aware, and very capable. They will go on to make an impact in their colleges, in their communities, and in the world. They are a joy to have in class.
