Our children enthusiastically attend art class every week and love thinking outside the box to create their art lessons! Visual art enriches the core curriculum and design principles of our charter school, and students benefit from the connections that their classroom teachers and enrichment teachers guide them to experience as art is integrated with other academic subjects like math, social studies and science. Students are representative of public school children with a range of high to low socioeconomic levels. Some of our students receive Title I tutoring for the educationally at-risk and many qualify for Exceptional Children's services due to special needs. Our students are inspired and guided by Expeditionary Learning philosophy of our charter school. This is demonstrated by their creative and critical thinking skills, as well as by our school's ranking for three years in a row as a state Honor School of Excellence.
