‘’Please teach me to read.” This is the statement that I hear all the time. The district supplies us resources but special education gets overlooked more often than not. These books will help me to start forging my students love of reading. They may also help them to stop seeing reading as the enemy. I want to teach them how to read with books that they find interesting and not demeaning. My students are very prideful and will rather take an F than do something they consider to be “babyish”. I want them to see reading as a way out.
