My students are from a working-class neighborhood in a large metropolitan city. Most of them are the first in their families to go to college. I teach AP united States History and absolutely love my students because though they are not ready for college level work, their motivation is off the charts. Last year, I had a 49% pass rate out of 96 students, which is phenomenal for my school. I hope to motivate and encourage these beautiful souls to work hard and understand that they can continue to grow their intelligence and curiosity.
