My school serves over 80% economically disadvantaged students. Last year 78% of the students were academically at risk. The average SAT score was 779 out of 1600, with only 5% of the students reaching a college ready score. However, my students are determined and work hard. They are eager for a strong education and thrive when presented with a challenge. My class is designed to empower each student to feel confident in themselves and to see the power of education. As a class, we work through hard problems, make mistakes, and struggle together. Most importantly, we have not given up.
