We will use Neil Gaiman's The Graveyard Book to discuss and analyze parts of a story and character development. This book traces the story of the boy who is adopted and raised by the supernatural occupants of a graveyard. The main character experiences many difficult situations but is on a quest to find his place to fit in. This novel is rich, bittersweet, and very entertaining. Students will travel through this suspenseful story while the young boy is raised to be strong and to love and trust the most unlikely of people. Through character development and plot analysis, students will embrace the story of "Nobody" and find their own strength from within.
