My students are like snowflakes...all different yet together they are strong! They love learning and reading about new places, things, and life situations. They have the best sense of humor, especially when we act out an event in a story we are reading. Read aloud time ignites their fire for learning and has helped my reluctant readers to try and read , just like their teacher! Our school has very limited resources which makes it difficult for teachers and students; however, my students show up everyday ready to fill their "sponge" with all I have to offer. They have learned to block out the multitude of distractions that occur in our neighborhood because they really want to be successful in school. We call blocking out, "pulling down the shade to distractions!"
