I am requesting a rug that has individual rectangles for students to occupy. During large group time, my 5 and 6 year olds have a difficult time controlling their bodies. Having a visual space for them to occupy will help them learn about personal space and hopefully accelerate their overall learning. This particular rug also has letters around the perimeter that can be used for seating during circle time. Circle time provides opportunity for class discussion. We have solved many a problem during circle time. The students can also stand on the perimeter letters to sing songs that will help them learn letter names, letter sounds and words.
