My scholars are creative, funny, genuine and artistic! They attend a school that is in the middle of a neighborhood revival. The previously rundown buildings are getting revamped, complete with murals on their walls and sculptures out front from local artists. As a science teacher, I love to push my scholars to see all aspects of the natural (& synthetic) world - including its artistic beauty. This aspect is often the catalyst for their investment, as art is becoming an increasingly prominent part of their community. I want my scholars to see science in action in a variety of ways - not just in the sterile confines of a lab!
