These requested materials will provide a hands on learning approach to math and also develop students' early number sense. Gaps in this area are often seen when entering first grade. I would like to better address this need as it is crucial for building a strong foundation in math. The manipulatives are great for practicing and reinforcing skills through a variety of learning activities and games. The zippered pouches allows each child to have their own set of supplies which will be used extensively in class and to extend learning at home. The literature books will be used as mentor texts to help introduce concepts and build math vocabulary. By funding our project, you will not only help make lessons become more fun and engaging, you will also improve their academic achievement. Students will be able to interact with math on a deeper level, enjoy learning more, and become stronger mathematicians. I appreciate your support for myself as a teacher, but especially for the students!
