This semester, my students have been hard at work learning how to apply Freytag Pyramids to short stories, annotating poems and analyzing figurative language, writing Short Answer Responses and filling in rhetorical triangles. Now, we are diving into an expository writing unit as we prepare for the end-of-semester exams. I love teaching kids who are so eager to learn, but sometimes I feel that I can't present the information they need in the most effective way. In my classroom, I have a white board and a projector that can show videos and PowerPoints. While I am thankful to have them, it is sometimes difficult to model learning processes. I cannot always put everything on a white board, I cannot write edits on a PowerPoint, and I certainly can't make paper copies of all notes and examples we go over in class. To help remedy this situation, I am requesting an Elmo Document Camera.
