The Wright Skills Books are perfect for my small group intervention groups and my small group push-in groups for extra support. They are sets of 6 books for each title and the stories are built around a specific decoding skill (vowel teams, consonant blends, breaking apart syllables, etc.). With them I can teach each decoding skill through a story which we can then use for some comprehension as well. I do have access to the Kindergarten and First grade Wright Skills levels but they are not a great fit for my older students who continue to struggle with these skills. By filling in the gaps in my students' decoding skills, through the use of these Wright Skills books, I can help my students learn to love reading and then become life-long learners.
