My school is a special place. It is a title 1 school, but in a very tight-knit community with minimal transiency. Our parents oftentimes don't move so that they can keep their children in our school. We have a very active PTA and numerous parent volunteers. My second grade level partner and I work very hard to make sure that our lessons are engaging and that our units of study are interesting and fabulous. We make sure that units of study are science and social studies based. My kids absolutely love science. By the end of the year I have kids saying that they want to be a paleontologist, a firefighter, a teacher, a doctor, a dentist, etc. when they grow up
