Our school is in eastern North Carolina. Half of our students are from military families and half are from rural farms. Some of our students have lived all over the world and some have never even been to the beach which is less than five miles away. Therefore, student experiences with technology is varied. Most students do not have the internet at home (ones who live on the farms). I have witnessed the excitement students have when using a new technology tool. Our school is a low income Title 1 school. Our school is a Stephen Covey Leader In Me Lighthouse School. We believe that students can and are leaders. Our students plan and carry through with plans as to what initiatives they want at the school and they love technology in the classroom.
