I teach kindergarten in a Chicago Public School with a poverty level of 85%, most of which are minority students. I have a total of 32 students in my kindergarten class. I love creating an inviting atmosphere for all my students, since they come eager to learn everyday. Making their learning experience more enjoyable is one way to encourage their success. Common Core is now introducing and expecting Kindergartners to become fluent readers by the end of the school year. To have tools such as the phonic puzzles to help them expand their vocabulary would be very useful, especially since at the kindergarten level students like to learn in a fun way.
