The third and fourth graders in my classroom are enthusiastic learners. They often ask, " Do we get to have science today?" They love to participate in learning, working well in teams to solve challenges put before them. Our rural school is unique in that we are located in a farming community that is closely connected to high technology industries. They need opportunities to use math and science together and make academic connections to their current world. My students are autonomous. They take pride in working together and independently, maintaining our classroom materials, knowing that new resources are difficult to obtain. They often become so involved in their learning that we are all surprised when the day end bell rings! I love when they beg, "Can we do this tomorrow?"
