We live in the age of technology in which students spend much of their time surrounded by technology. There are many districts and schools that have 1 to 1 iPad programs in which each student receives an iPad to use throughout the day to assist in their lessons. Other districts have several iPads to use in a learning station/center. My desire is to narrow the gap in technology between those districts and mine, by creating a technology center for my students to use during math class. By incorporating technology into lessons, learning becomes more engaging for students. By using a variety of Apps, students do not even realize that they are learning. Your generous donation will not only build a technology center for my students to use in math, but it will also provide additional exposure to 21st Century learning.I plan to build that center using these iPads in conjunction with the single iPad and desktop computers already in my room. We will not only use these iPads for math apps, but we will also use them to build portfolios of student work. Additionally, I plan to have students watch instructional videos on the iPads so that they can continue to develop skills in which they need additional practice.
