My third graders are motivated by sharing innovative thinking and collaborating with classmates in a project based learning environment. They develop strong content knowledge through using multiple print resources. Updated technology is a missing link to their learning. The few desktop computers in our classroom are not reliable and have limited capacity for on-line research and are often unable to access websites due to outdated applications. Once these computers stop working, they will not be replaced. Chromebooks will allow my students the opportunity to build the skills required to meet the Common Core State Standards. The students will become thinkers who analyze multiple sources of evidence; evaluate the relevancy, accuracy, and completeness of information; and synthesize the learning. Chromebooks in the classroom will enhance student learning and allow them to collaborate using technology.
