We have a very large population at our school. Unfortunately, there is not additional funds available for our children to have new and updated technology. My students are eager to learn and excited with everything technological. Some of the children in my room do not have computers at home and some that have computers, don't have Internet available. Our reading program, Accelerated Reader, is a computer based program with reading comprehension tested via computer. With sparse technology and outdated computers, some children have to wait for the opportunity to get on a computer often times a lot later, thus not passing the tests for the program. We simply do not have enough in our room and the ones that we have are outdated and slow. The speakers are broken, some of the buttons on the keyboard do not work, etc... Technology is the way of life that I must prepare my students for the future.
