My kindergarten kids are excited to come to school because learning is a fun adventure! Through the support of donors on Donors Choose, I have been able to create a student friendly room full of engaging activities. My students love using technology in the classroom. My students get to use a Smart Board and Chromebooks every day. Kids need early experiences with digital citizenship, mouse control, windows navigation, and keyboard practice in order to be successful in a computer driven society. I utilize technology while teaching content standards lessons in phonemic awareness skills, sight word knowledge, reading development, and math skills. I teach my students to have a growth mindset and a positive attitude towards success and mistakes. They learn that mistakes are opportunities for practice. I am proud of my students for all they achieve in kindergarten. It is truly a privilege to be a kindergarten teacher!
