My students are from a lower economic families where often they spend more time at school then at home. Over 75% of the students in the school receive free or reduced lunch throughout the school year. Often, they are unable to obtain supplies needed for school, and books to read at home. These children are excited to read, yet realize they struggle as independent readers with grade level text.
