Our school of 600 students is a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) related school. My public school 2nd Graders are eager beavers wanting to learn (with 54% not knowing all of their sound-letter recognition and well below proficiency levels in reading, writing, math). There are 14 active boys and 10 calm girls from Micronesia, Hawai'i and the continental US with beautiful blending of cultures and colors in our class Ohana (family)!
