Classic, familiar stories will engage my kindergartners to become problem solvers and junior engineers. They will ask questions, experiment and work on problem solving skills using familiar fairy tale characters. My kindergarten students love to engage with hands-on materials to create their solutions to an engineering challenge. By introducing a challenge through familiar story book characters, my students will use their problem-solving skills to work out their own solutions to each investigation unit. The students will be grouped homogeneously to allow each student the opportunity to contribute to the investigation and to work collaboratively. The kits will be shared by 2 other kindergarten teachers.
