I am a third grade teacher working with eager and enthusiastic learners. I have a class with various levels of academic performance, from children with special needs to those with gifted abilities. They are very cooperative and always willing to help each other out. We are teaming and mixing with other third graders in Physical Education and Science. They enjoy the interactions and the competition. We are doing a marathon race for the year, where they must run 105 laps around our school playground by the end of the year. They will be awarded with a medal in an honorary ceremony. Teaming with other third graders can be exciting, but also challenging. One way that is challenging is obtaining equipment and supplies for our daily lessons. We are one of many inner city schools that are facing budget cuts, and therefore find ourselves searching for outside funding.
