We have a very diverse population at our school. Some of our children are from Bangladesh, the middle east and Liberia. We also have children who are African-American, Mexican, Columbian and Dominican. Our students live in an urban business district. We have no outdoor play area and no parks to walk to as we are close to the court house and other office buildings. Our students are all in Pre-kindergarten and need to have at least 60 minutes of physical activity daily. We have a brand new indoor gym, but no equipment to use. Our wonderful staff have contributed balls, jump rope, hula hoops, bean bags and some other items, but we have no equipment to ride, climb or slide. The children would have such a blast playing, racing and using their imaginations with the scooters.
