Great things are happening in Mrs. Vallus's 2nd Grade!! My students come to me reading picture books and leave reading chapter books on 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade reading levels! As incoming 2nd graders, my students are adding and subtracting basic facts on their fingers. When they leave me, they are adding and subtracting 3-digit numbers fluently! My students skip into my classroom each morning so eager to take a timed fact test on one of our 5 iPads, and they are sad when they are absent and miss their afternoon time trying to get to the next level on their math app! My students absolutely love when they get to do research on the iPads, or when they get to explore beginner robotics on them. As you can see, I have VERY motivated, eager students who LOVE to learn, and I am a VERY motivated, eager teacher who is always looking for more creative ways to challenge and excite my students!!
