I have a very diverse group of students. We are a low income school district, with a high immigrant population. Many of my students are the only English speakers in their homes and have very chaotic lives. Many of my students are on free and reduced lunch due to their families income. Because of a lack of funds and changing standards, our science books are from 1992 and include information that is incorrect and outdated. Many of the books are torn and ripped with missing pages and messages from former students. Many of the messages are rude and obnoxious. Using one computer and reading from it to the students is a difficult task. Having more than one computer in the class will make it much nicer and easier for students to access information. We also will be able to use the document camera to help build literacy skills. Currently I have to make a transparency at Staples, use an overhead projector. Please help us meet our goal of having more technology in our room.
