My classroom is made up of a group of diverse first grade students. My class encompasses Regular Education, English Language Learners and Special Education Students. My first grade class is located in an impoverished urban area. It is an area where it is not safe for children to walk to the library or even go outside to play. Many parents do not have the resources to buy books for their children so the only place where students have up to date nonfiction books is in the classroom.
