Each day in my classroom, students are given varied structured activities to build their foundational skills (communication, fine-motor, cognitive, sensory, social skills, etc.). Activities are aligned with monthly related themes and are presented to students during circle, choice, or table work times. During circle time, students participate in fun, teacher directed activities through songs, stories, and movement. During choice time children may choose from various items to play with independently or with a friend. This is a perfect time for them to work on sharing and taking turns. Weekly table work provides students the choice of eight activities that students rotate through. These include sorting, matching, counting, lacing, etc.
