I have 26 students in my inner city first grade classroom. The majority of my students are substantially below grade level and come from a very low socio-economic background. I have 3 students in my class that are autistic in addition, I also have students that have varying degrees of behavioral problems. My school strives to create the best possible environment for its students however many times it lacks the materials and resources needed to create an engaging environment for all students.
