These sight word and alphabet materials will be used in a lower income, disadvantaged school to help my sweet little second graders acquire the skills needed to learn their letters, sounds, and sight words and put them on a path to reading. We will use these aides during small group instruction with my guidance, expertise, and loving care. My students usually arrive in my classroom having already learned to read and we are able to build on the skills they have already mastered. But this year, after 15 months of distance learning and having little support at home, I have students who have come to me not knowing their letter names, sounds or sight words. Thank you for considering my project!
